"I'm A Player" - About Mattias DeDoes, student-athlete

Mattie DeDoes is a student at Father Gabriel Richard High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, currently in his junior year.  Along with his musical artistry, Mattie is a fine student (3.7 GPA, 33 score on the ACT) and standout athlete.

On the baseball field in 2009, Mattie led the FGR Fighting Irish to a school record 33-8 mark, winning league, district, and regional titles.  He was named all-district and all-region, and is considered a very fine collegiate prospect as a pitcher and infielder.  In 2008, Mattie set a school record for hits in a season and was named team MVP.

In basketball, the Irish finished 2009 as Catholic league champs, district champs, and regional finalists in Class B in the state of Michigan.  Mattie was one of the key reserves on this squad, and looks toward a bigger role next year.  With him in the starting lineup during the summer of 2008, the Irish captured the "Izzo Shootout" at Michigan State University.

Truly, Mattie and FGR basketball and baseball are "In The Zone" for 2009-10, as they look for state titles in both sports !
