While 17-year old high school student Mattias DeDoes is many things - including college baseball prospect, basketball star, and an outstanding young student and citizen to boot - he announces his musical presence with authority in his first release "I'm A Player."

"Birdland" Rocks; other hits on tap
An August 2009 event at WCC's Towsley Auditorium presented Mattie DeDoes and his 4-piece band in a command performance. Their unique arrangement of "Birdland" was the musical highlight of the evening; Mattie (and producer dad Steve) are presently working to record this...stay tuned.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Mattie DeDoes will be the feature performer at a FGR event to honor Bishop Earl Boyea.

Pre-Release of "Player" Raises Funds for FGR Baseball
In March 2009, a "special edition" CD release of "I'm A Player" was published by Unknown Legacy Records.

This pre-release was done to raise monies for Mattie's high school baseball program at Gabriel Richard H.S. - and we are happy to report that this was a great success, as hundreds of dollars were raised.

First Radio Airplay !!
The track "In The Zone" from this CD aired on February 1 and other times nationwide as part of the syndicated broadcast program "Notes From Above."

This edition of the music program found producer/composer Steve DeDoes joining hosts Tom Loewe and Sister Sarah Burdick as they explored and explained the inspirational aspects of jazz music. In addition to some wonderful tracks from Bill Evans, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, and more, Mattie's horn soars in the second half of the program.
