Steve DeDoes may have lost a step since his prime…he certainly can’t fit into the same conductor’s tux he’s wearing in the photo at left (circa 1993).

The former athlete and longtime coach is now more well-known in sporting circles as “Mattie’s Dad.”  However, Steve’s noteworthy musical and artistic legacy continues to grow.  As the acclaimed composer-producer-performer once again turns his attention to new creative horizons, his son’s career is just starting — and not just musically.

Mattie DeDoes is at Oberlin College (OH) as a top collegiate baseball player, one with pro aspirations – this in addition to his ongoing musical and academic pursuits.  “DeDoes Music” is now a father-and-son operation – one that combines Steve’s incredible artistic visions and craft with Mattie’s talent and brilliance.  This young saxophonist is, simply put, one of the finest jazz-funk artists you will hear.

DeDoes Music is:

• Recorded Products (CDs, feature songs, and soundtracks).
• Free Music – from Mattie, from Steve, from the new band “StrykNine,” and from other artist collaborations.
• Creative Musical Application – in media, and/or for live performance.  Whether composing a song, a theme, or a score that needs to be “on the mark,” or in selection of repertoire and production to fit an occasion, DeDoes Music has a legacy of providing soundtracks and memorable moments that live on.
• Memorable Live Concerts – Together, Mattie and Steve have been responsible for creating some magical musical moments for live audiences in recent years.  Individually, they have their credits as well.  A “Mattie DeDoes” concert pulls from Steve’s lifetime of musical presentation for major tours, theatre, and other show business experience.

The collective output of Mattie and Steve DeDoes also includes:

Award-winning Media Presentations.  Steve DeDoes Media and Music Productions has created smash commercial films, successful TV and radio ads, dramatic and thematic website content, and live stage events at major venues.  In short, we can not only do the music – we can produce the entire work.

Athletic Involvements.  While Mattie’s baseball career takes “center stage” for him, Steve is established as an announcer (play-by-play and P.A.) and sportswriter with a distinctive style.  He also has had a serious coaching career, working with basketball and baseball players at levels from youth to collegiate and professional.
